Chris McCormick is the debut author of Desert Boys, a collection of stories published by Picador and the 2017 Stonewall Book Award winner from the American Library Association. His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in publications including The Atlantic and Tin House. Originally from the California side of the Mojave Desert, he's earned degrees from UC Berkeley and the University of Michigan, where he was the recipient of two Hopwood Awards. Beginning in the fall, he will join the creative writing faculty at Minnesota State University. In the meantime, he's completing his second book, a novel called The Gimmicks.
