The minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) has two tracks. One track prepares participants for careers in teaching English learners in international contexts, government and non-government organizations, and private enterprises. The second track prepares participants with an Education major or an existing K-12 licensure to work specifically with English learners in the K-12 environment. Program requirements include completion of 16-24 credits. Additionally, licensure preparation students must meet a language requirement (i.e., one year of college level or two years of high school foreign language study or an equivalent experience).
The Linguistics minor is for students interested in learning about how language works and how it is used. This minor complements many majors, including those related to English, World Languages, Education, Communication Disorders, Anthropology, and Sociology.
