What is STC?

The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. Among its 22,000 members are technical writers, editors, graphic designers, multimedia artists, Web and Intranet page information designers, translators, and others who make technical information available to those who need it. Membership in STC provides opportunities for ongoing learning and networking for technical communicators. The organization promotes the public welfare by educating its members and industry about issues concerning technical communication.

 

Minnesota State University, Mankato STC Chapter Information

From the Chapter President

The MSUM chapter of the Society for Technical Communication held its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, October 20. For this occasion, the Society brought in a speaker from Fairview Health Service in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The speaker, Barb Klingbeil, is a technical communicator within the company. Ms. Klingbeil, who graduated from MSU, Mankato, works on things within her department such as the Year 2000 project, in-house documentation, clinical documentation, and medical records.
