


The English Department at Minnesota State Mankato offers students the opportunity to study literature from a variety of perspectives. Through the analysis of key literary texts, students learn how to think critically and how to communicate clearly. Guided by dedicated teachers and scholars, the Literature and English Studies Programs provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in fields such as education, publishing, marketing, and law.
Our courses feature a wide range of topics and approaches, from broad historical surveys to specific genres, authors, and theories.
At the undergraduate level, we offer bachelor's degrees in Literature and English Studies, as well as a literature-based minor.
At the graduate level, we offer a master's degree in English Studies.
