Norman Adams Award

Award Description

The award will be given to an undergraduate English major who demonstrates excellence in English language/literature studies. The 2009 award amount has yet to be determined.

Eligibility

To qualify for consideration, a candidate must

• be an undergraduate English major who will be a junior or senior during the next academic year
• be able to demonstrate excellence in English language/literature studies

Application Procedure

To apply, a candidate must

• complete the English Awards cover sheet, including the names and contact information for two references who can address the student's academic qualities
• complete an application letter of no more than two pages. In the letter, the candidate must discuss (a) his/her academic performance as an English major and (b) how the English major fits in with his/her career goals

Applicants may apply for all English awards for which they qualify. For students who apply for multiple awards, the Awards Committee will confer the highest-amount award that a student may be eligible to receive.

The award recipient will be announced April 2009.
