High School Scholarships$1,500 Scholarships to Minnesota State University, Mankato for high school seniors.
Undergraduate Awards The award will be given to an undergraduate English major who demonstrates excellence in English language/literature studies.
This award is made to an undergraduate English Teaching major.
Jane F. Earley American Literature Scholarship
The Jane F. Earley American Literature Scholarship is awarded for excellent student work in American literature, based upon both work completed and the potential of work to come.

The Film Studies Scholarship is awarded to a continuing undergraduate Film Studies Minor (any major).
The award will be given to the junior in English Education with the highest GPA.
William A. Payne Memorial Endowment
The award is given in alternate years to a student in Music and to a student in English. In 2012 the award was given to an undergraduate English major who demonstrated financial need and good character.
Brian Sether Memorial Scholarship
The Brian Sether Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a faculty-nominated English, Speech or Open Studies major with interdisciplinary and community interests.
The award will be given to an accomplished student pursuing a career in English education.
Open to continuing undergraduate and graduate students.
The Youel English Award I is made to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduating senior with an English Major who is preparing for a career in teaching, writing, or graduate work in an area of English language and literature.
The Youel English Award II is made to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduating senior with a major or minor in English; eligibility is restricted to those planning to enter a non-teaching profession outside the field of English language/literature.

Graduate Awards Jane F. Earley American Literature Scholarship
The Jane F. Earley American Literature Scholarship is awarded for excellent student work in American literature, based upon both work completed and the potential of work to come.
Outstanding Graduate Student of 2012-13 Award
The Outstanding Graduate Student of 2012-13 Award goes to a peer-nominated graduate student in the last year (which may include the second summer session of 2013) of his or her program that has demonstrated outstanding professional activity during his or her graduate career at MSU.
The Raymond and Florence Sponberg Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding female graduate student in English who has formally submitted her Plan of Study, and who is in either her second or third semester of study at the time of application.
Open to continuing undergraduate and graduate students.
Writing Awards ContestsThe Robert L. Carothers Writers Award will be offered to an undergraduate student for excellence in writing.
Composition Merit Awards Contest
The Composition Merit Awards celebrate outstanding writing produced in English 100 and 101.
