$1,500 Scholarships to Minnesota State University, Mankato for high school seniors.

 

Up IconUndergraduate Awards   

Norman Adams

The award will be given to an undergraduate English major who demonstrates excellence in English language/literature studies.

Eddice Barber

This award is made to an undergraduate English Teaching major.

Capstone Community Scholarship Program

Open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students majoring in one of the following areas of study: Pre-school Education, Elementary/Primary Education, Library Science, English Language Learners, English, Publishing, Graphic Design or English as a Second Language

Jane F. Earley American Literature Scholarship

The Jane F. Earley American Literature Scholarship is awarded for excellent student work in American literature, based upon both work completed and the potential of work to come.

English Major/ Film Studies Scholarship

The English Major/Film Studies Scholarship is awarded to a continuing undergraduate English major/Film Studies minor.

Harold Fitterer

The award will be given to the junior in English Education with the highest GPA.

William A. Payne Memorial Endowment

The award is given in alternate years to a student in Music and to a student in English. In 2010 the award will be given to an undergraduate English major who demonstrates financial need and good character.

Brian Sether Memorial Scholarship

The Brian Sether Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a faculty-nominated English, Speech or Open Studies major with interdisciplinary and community interests.

Marcia Thompson

The award will be given to an accomplished student pursuing a career in English education.

Robert C. Wright

Open to continuing undergraduate and graduate students.

Youel I

The Youel English Award I is made to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduating senior with an English Major who is preparing for a career in teaching, writing, or graduate work in an area of English language and literature.

Youel II

The Youel English Award II is made to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduating senior with a major or minor in English; eligibility is restricted to those planning to enter a non-teaching profession outside the field of English language/literature.

Outstanding Graduate Student of 2011 Award

The Outstanding Graduate Student of 2010 Award goes to a peer-nominated graduate student in the last year (which may include the second summer session of 2009) of his or her program that has demonstrated outstanding professional activity during his or her graduate career at MSU.

Raymond and Florence Sponberg

The Raymond and Florence Sponberg Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding female graduate student in English who has formally submitted her Plan of Study, and who is in either her second or third semester of study at the time of application.

Robert C. Wright

Open to continuing undergraduate and graduate students.
